Retail POS package features

The retail package is only supported in Shopify POS for iPad, thus you can only take advantage of the majority of its features to generate a full retail store experience. However, with a Swipe card reader, a supported third-party gateway, and physical gift cards, the retail package can work with Shopify POS for iPhone.

The retail package in Shopify POS for iPad has a lot of additional features.

The additional retail hardware plays the role of a receipt printer, cash drawer, or barcode scanner which you can reuse it if Shopify supports it.

To add the retail package to your Shopify plan

In your Shopify admin you can add the retail package to your Shopify plan:

  • Step 1. Click to Shopify admin > Point of Sale Setup page.
  • Step 2. Tap Point of Sale, and then tap Setup
  • Step 3. Tap Enable in the Retail package section
  • Step 4. Tap Add Retail Package in the dialog displays showing how the retail package will affect your subscription fee.

From the Point of Sale Setup page of your Shopify admin, you can tap Disable to remove the retail package from your Shopify plan.
