How to Edit Bank Account Information (on Desktop and Mobile)

With a large number of useful, customizable integrated functions, Shopify Payments is a very effective and user-friendly tool to accept online payments many online store owners rely on.

Upon setting up Shopify Payments, you are required to provide your bank account information. This account will be set as default for any future transactions.

However, in case you wish to switch to another bank, or there are any changes in your bank account information, you could always edit your submitted bank account information with just a few mouse clicks in the Shopify homepage.

Step 1: Go to Payment providers

First, log in your Shopify account, go to the Settings section in your bottom left corner and select Payment providers.

Step 2: Click Edit under Shopify Payments

As Shopify Payments has been enabled as a Payment provider, click the Edit button in this section.

Step 3: Click Edit under Bank account

In the Bank account section as shown below, click the edit button:

Step 4: Edit your bank information

Edit your existed bank account information with the new one.

Note: If your account is from a Japanese bank, remember to enter the required information in Kanji (full width) characters.

Step 5: Save your information

Click Save and your bank account information has been updated.

Caution: Payouts from Shopify Payments could not be received with bank account credentials from prepaid bank cards.

  • Step 1: Visit Settings in Store After logging in your Shopify account, go to the Store symbol in the bottom right corner and select Settings.

  • Step 2: Tap Payments in Store Settings Next, in the Store settings section, a list of settings available to customize your store will be shown. Tap Payments.

  • Step 3: Tap Edit in Shopify Payments Next, under the Shopify Payments section, tap Edit

  • Step 4: Tap Edit in Bank account In the Bank account section, continue tapping edit

  • Step 5: Enter the required information Fil in the required information that you wish to update. Note: If your account is from a Japanese bank, remember that only full-width Kanji characters are accepted.

  • Step 6: Save your change Click Save to confirm the change in your bank account information.
