Advantages of mailing gift cards to Customers on Shopify
After testing and experiencing this functionality on my Shopify store, I found out that Shopify merchants can earn several advantages for mailing gift cards to customers, including:
-
Tangible & Memorable: I’ve noticed that sending a physical gift card creates a more lasting impression than just an email code. It feels like a “real” gift, adding excitement and anticipation to the recipient’s experience.
-
Personal Touch: When I include a handwritten note with the mailed gift card, it elevates the gifting experience and shows the customer they’re valued. It’s a small gesture that makes a big impact on building relationships.
-
Branding Opportunity: The physical card itself becomes a mini-billboard for your brand. I ensure my cards are beautifully designed and carry my store’s logo, creating additional exposure and reinforcing brand recognition.
-
Reduced Fraud Risk: While digital gift card codes can be vulnerable to scams and theft, a physical card requires physical possession to be used, adding an extra layer of security.
-
Upselling Potential: Including a small discount or promotion with the mailed gift card can incentivize the recipient to spend more when redeeming it, potentially increasing your overall sales.
-
Reaching Non-Digital Customers: While many customers prefer digital gift cards, some still appreciate the traditional touch of receiving a physical card in the mail, particularly older generations or those who might not be as comfortable with online transactions.
-
Perfect for Special Occasions: A mailed gift card can make a thoughtful and personalized gift for birthdays, holidays, or special events, showcasing your store’s commitment to exceptional customer service.
Overall, while digital gift cards offer convenience, mailing physical gift cards can be a powerful way to differentiate your Shopify store, create a memorable gifting experience, and build lasting customer relationships.
