Fulfill Orders with Fulfillment by Amazon
Last updated: October 16 2024
Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) is a popular choice for Shopify sellers, allowing you to tap into Amazon’s extensive logistics network for storage, packing, and shipping. Although Shopify no longer offers a built-in FBA integration, you can still leverage FBA through third-party apps.
This guide will show you step-by-step instructions on how to fulfill orders with Amazon’s FBA fulfillment on your Shopify store.
How to Fulfill Orders with Fulfillment by Amazon on Shopify
Shopify has discontinued its direct integration with Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) as of March 31, 2023.
If you still want to manage your Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment orders from within Shopify, you’ll need to install a third-party app from the Shopify App Store.
Using the Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF) App
Amazon’s own Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF) app is a free option on the Shopify App Store that lets you tap into Amazon’s trusted fulfillment network. With this app, you can seamlessly import and fulfill your Shopify orders using Amazon’s efficient pick, pack, and ship service.
Currently, this service is available for US-based merchants fulfilling orders to US addresses.
To get started:
Step 1: Install the MCF app from the Shopify App Store.
Step 2: Grant the app permission and click Install
Step 3: Connect your Amazon seller account.
Step 4: Configure your preferences within the MCF app.
For a detailed walkthrough of the installation process, you can refer to Amazon’s user guide.
Using Other Third-Party Connector Apps
If you need to fulfill orders with MCF in countries other than the United States, you’ll need to explore alternative Shopify apps.
There are several Shopify apps available that offer integrations with MCF services in other regions, such as the UK, Canada, Japan, France, Italy, Germany, Mexico, Australia, Spain, and the US. You can easily find these apps in the Shopify App Store.
Remember, most apps offer free trials, so don’t hesitate to try them out and see which one best suits your specific needs.
Bottom Line
By following this guide and choosing the right app, you can efficiently fulfill orders with fulfillment by Amazon on your Shopify store, providing your customers with fast and reliable shipping while freeing up your time to focus on growing your business.
FAQs
Will the old FBA integration stay in my store after March 31, 2023?
Yes, it will. But you can turn it off manually by going to Settings > Shipping and delivery > Click the Deactivate button under the Fulfillment by Amazon section.
What happens to my existing orders now that the FBA integration is gone?
Your orders will stay in your store’s Orders page as unfulfilled. You’ll need to manually move them to the new MCF service by installing an MCF app, creating a new fulfillment location for it, and assigning the products and orders to this new location, or moving them to whichever fulfillment service you prefer to use.
What do I do after installing the MCF app?
First, switch your product inventory from FBA to MCF. For any unfulfilled FBA orders, duplicate them to link them to the MCF service instead. Just go to the order details, click More Actions, and then Duplicate. The duplicated order will now show MCF instead of FBA for the products.
What about products that aren’t assigned to the new MCF location?
They’ll default to your store’s main location. You can manually move their inventory to the new MCF location in the app.
