Customizing your customer billing statement on Shopify is critical to ensuring customers easily recognize your transactions. By including essential details like your store name, address, or customer service hotline, you can enhance the professionalism of your billing process and reduce confusion. Whether you’re using a desktop or mobile device, follow our detailed instructions to make these updates efficiently.

Customer Statement Name Compliance for Shopify Payments

When customers make a purchase from your website, Shopify automatically generates a credit card statement for them. For easy management, you can customize the name on this statement to make it more recognizable and relevant.

Your customer billing statement name must be between 5 and 22 characters long and include your store name, entity name, “Doing Business As” (DBA) name, or store URL. If you don’t edit your statement name during setup, Shopify will automatically select a name that meets your requirements.
