Tags can be added to several sections in Shopify, including products, customers, transfers, blog posts, orders, and draft orders. Adding tags helps you streamline your workflow by grouping similar items together for easier management.
Here is how to add a tag:
Step 1: Open The Product List
From your Shopify admin, go to Products
Step 2: Select the Section Where You Want to Add Tags
Depending on the item you want to tag, navigate to one of the following:
- Products

In this guide, I’ll take Products as an example.
Step 3: Open the Item's Details Page
Click on the product, order, customer, or blog post that you want to tag.

Scroll down to find the Tags section on the details page and type in the name of the tag you want to add, or select it from the list of existing tags.
If you enter a new tag name, it will be automatically created for you to use again in the future.
For example, if you're organizing products for a seasonal sale, you can create a tag like "Summer Sale."
Step 5: Save Your Changes
Click Save at the top right corner of the page to apply the tag.
