Benefits of setting wholesale pricing
Setting wholesale pricing on BigCommerce, as opposed to merely at retail price, which is the normal price at which a customer will purchase your product, would result in:
- Increased sales and lowered expenses leading to increased profit and growth.
- Higher customer retention.
- An increase in market share
- Improved brand’s reputation due to increased trust from customers.
How to set wholesale pricing for a product in BigCommerce stores?
This part will discuss how to set wholesale pricing in BigCommerce stores via Bulk Pricing Rules for individual products.
Wholesale pricing for individual products can be managed under the Pricing section. For detailed information, please follow the below steps:
Step 1: Choose a product that you want to set wholesale pricing

Under the Discount Type drop-down list, there are three options available for you:
- % Discount which means customers get a total percent off the product (e.g. “Order 2 or more, get 20% off”)
- $ Fixed amount which means customers pay a fixed price per unit (e.g. “Get 2 for $10 each”)
- $ Off/Unit which means customers receive a fixed $ amount off per unit (e.g. “Save $10 when you buy 3 or more”)
Click on the discount option you want to set and move on to the next step.
Step 5: Enter the Min quantity
Under Min Quantity, enter the lowest quantity of your lowest pricing tier.
For example, if orders of 2-4 get a 10% discount and orders of 5 or more products get a 30% discount, you would enter “2” to represent the lowest end of your first tier. When creating another tier, you would enter “5”.
Step 6: Enter the discount, fixed price per unit, or off
After entering the minimum quantity, you need to enter the % discount, fixed price per unit, or $ off that you want to set for your specific product. After that, the Unit Price column will update automatically.
You can also write the unit price first, then the % discount, fixed price per unit, or $ off will adjust accordingly.
Step 7: Click +Add tiers to add more tiers if you want to
This step is optional. If you want to add more offers for customers, you can click on +Add tiers.
